New entrepreneurs boost Yorkshire’s economy

Yorkshire Party Business Spokesperson Tim Norman has welcomed a report that Yorkshire is among the most successful regions in attracting fledgling businesses.

But he also criticised the lack of Government investment for continuing to hold back the county’s economy.

The recent report highlighted that Yorkshire was the fourth most prolific region for start-up loans in the UK.

The British Business Bank said that in the period from 2012 more than £44m had been loaned to Yorkshire entrepreneurs.

Tim Norman: what more could we have done?

Tim said: “Given the massive disparity between central Government investment in Yorkshire in that period and other regions of the UK for this to be the case is especially poignant.

“If Yorkshire had been given a fair deal, then who knows what the position would have been.

“With an increased investment over the years in infrastructure, schools, education, transport and health we can only imagine how much more powered up our wonderful region would have been.

“The Yorkshire Party is committed to ‘Powering Up The North’ and delivering excellence in start-up to mature businesses and demanding a stronger Yorkshire in a fairer United Kingdom.”
