WHO IS KIMBERLEY THOMAS?
My husband and I run a small business within the East Riding of Yorkshire, renovating properties so that low-income families can enjoy high-quality homes. We have four children and family values and education are extremely important to us.
I am studying Biomedical Sciences and hope to help people who, like me, have disabilities. I believe in fighting for the rights of all disabled people. A disability cannot stop you from being successful, only self-doubt will.
During the pandemic, I developed the Coronavirus Community Resources List, along with Facebook and telephone-based support services. I was voted Bridlington Echo Town Hero and given a monthly editorial, offering mental health and community support.
“I’ve worked hard to help our community through the pandemic.
I’ll keep working to rebuild our farming industry, to protect the
environment and for better, greener public transport”
WHY DID I JOIN THE YORKSHIRE PARTY?
I met Yorkshire Party East Riding Councillors Tim Norman and Andy Walker through my work during the pandemic. I joined and soon became a policy researcher, forming policy on domestic abuse. The Yorkshire Party welcomes new members and new ideas. Decisions affecting our communities should be made by those communities, not Westminster. Join today to play your part.
MY PRIORITIES ARE:
- RESTORE HOSPITAL SERVICES
- BETTER PUBLIC TRANSPORT & BETTER ROADS
- BETTER SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
- COMMUNITY SUPPORT
- THE ENVIRONMENT & COASTAL EROSION
- LOCAL JOB CREATION & GREEN JOBS
- SUPPORTING FARMERS
Let’s promote local food for local shops and
provide better grants for farmers. Agriculture
is part of who we are as a community.
WHAT IS THE YORKSHIRE PARTY?
The Yorkshire Party wants to end Westminster centred politics with real devolution. Tory, Labour and coalition governments have neglected Yorkshire. We deserve our fair share of local funding and powers to improve health and social care, support farmers, rejuvenate public transport, fix potholes, and empower children with better education, including those homeschooled. Our Bridlington councillors were instrumental in supporting communities during the pandemic and making the council declare a climate emergency.
AGRICULTURE & ENVIRONMENT
We support locally produced food for local shops and a new “Made in Yorkshire” Brand to promote the higher standards of our farmers. We must end environmental neglect which has seen coastal erosion worsen, increased flooding and declining populations of bees, insects and wildflowers.
FIGHT FOR OUR HOSPITAL
The Tories keep downgrading Bridlington District Hospital and have removed all general surgery. Our councillors are fighting them every step of the way. Reinforce their efforts by electing Kimberley.
