The Yorkshire Party’s four new councillors on Selby Council are already making an impact in their district.
Councillor Mike Jordan said: “We are getting stuck into jobs from the off.”
Fellow councillor Dave Brook at Sherburn-in-Elmet has started a poll on his Facebook page seeking views of residents on local issues of concern to them. And from a fund-raising Club100 and that is about to make donations to a number of worthy causes in his village.
Mike’s daughter, Ellie Jordan has already had invitions from several parishes in her Byram and Brotherton ward and will be meeting and greeting folk on May 15 to hear of their current concerns, though speeding traffic has already been raised through Facebook links.
Meanwhile, Paul Welburn and Mike are soon to meet council officers to discuss a new Spatial Strategy being developed on employment development along the M62 corridor, which passes through the district close to their Camblesforth and Carlton ward.
All our councillors, who represent three wards on the council, are in the middle of meetings to sort out specific training and decide places on council committees.
