Stewart Arnold has urged members to back the record number of Yorkshire Party candidates standing in this May’s local elections.
The Party’s leader has appealed for donations to support campaigning to give electors a chance to vote for the Yorkshire Party “from Hull to Huddersfield and Sheffield to Ripon”.
“Please help to send a statement that Yorkshire wants meaningful powers out of London so that we can set our own priorities,” he said in a rousing e-mail to all members.
“I’m delighted that we’ll be putting Mick Bower up as our candidate in the Sheffield City Region Mayor ballot. We have made it clear that the City Region idea is weak, unambitious and divisive. Mick is calling for the whole of Yorkshire to work as one. Read more about Mick’s ambitious five-point plan for the Sheffield City Region here.”
“We plan to deliver the Party’s best campaign so far. We are dependent on members’ donations, and I am asking you to consider giving some money. I thank you in advance for your support.
“Your donation will be put to good use. For example: £120 buys 10,000 leaflets, £50 allows us to hire a street stall, £25 buys a roller banner and £10 buys 10 rosettes.”
Stewart made the one-off call-for-alms to get the campaign off to “a great start”.
