Doncaster Speeding Survey

Chris Whitwood, the Yorkshire Party's prospective council candidate, was recently contacted by a group of local residents who are concerned about the speed of some traffic using Manor Drive and Alderson Drive as a cut through. For the past 25 years, they have been calling on Doncaster Council to take action to make the roads safer yet DMBC refuse to act.

Q: Are there any other local issues you think Chris should be campaigning on?
A: People fly tipping on the park on baxter avenue and get the council to actually keep the area tidy in general as there is broken glass needles and rubbish there and doesn’t seem to get cleaned

Q: What do you think should be done to make your road safer?
A: To be resurfaced, curbs to be sorted and parking restrictions to stop people parking on our street to go to town and to the marital arts place at top of street when they park all over double yellow lines

Q: How have you been affected?
A: People parking on double yellows as you turn onto baxter avenue from beckett road, very poor road surface so when cars come up and down causes a lot of noise in the house due to having a cellar, poor maintenance on curbs and very large vehicles parking on street ie a breakdown truck and a road sweeper

A: Ally gates would be good as wrong doers have moved from protected areas in town to the area.

Q: How have you been affected?
A: Since Zetland Road had speed bumps and Town Moore had the central islands installed Craithie Road is being used as a rat run. I have contacted the Highways by phone but nothing has been done. Two junctions on Crathie road and Balmoral road are dangerouse and have had several accidents. I assume when someone gets killed then action may be taken. Also the cars being parked in the area by hospital staff is getting ridiculous. Just look at the top of Balmoral and the junctions on Zetland road.
